What is sequin embroidery
Sequins are a type of embellishment used to decorate fabrics for embellishments. Initially, this embroidery was done using metallic disc shaped beads that are quite flat that are made in many different colours and shapes. But nowadays plastic is largely used. Sequins work on fabrics give greater shine and gleam for the attire.
The origin of the sequins is not exactly known but it is definitely popularized in the gulf countries. Earlier Arabs used to embellish their veils , their mouth pieces or niqabs or men on their islamic caps and women on their head ornaments with gold sequins in black fabrics, mostly indicating their wealth and rich hierarchy but overtime sequins work got popularised and travelled around the world and used to create all type of attires and in all type of items including upholsteries and decorations.
